India has achieved a remarkable mile stone “Polio Free Certification by WHO” in March 2014.
To maintain the polio free status, as per the recommendations of the India Expert Advisory Group (IEAG) on Polio, National Immunization Day (NID) is to be conducted in all districts of Andhra Pradesh covering children upto the age group of 0 (zero) to 5 (five) years.
As directed by MoHFW in the reference cited, the Government of Andhra Pradesh is conducting National Immunization Day for Polio on 3rd March 2024 (Sunday) in all the districts of Andhra Pradesh.
To achieve Healthy Panchayath, DPOs are instructed to issue necessary instructions to the Panchayat Secretaries to
a) take care of sanitation at places where booths are set up
b) make arrangements for drinking water
c) propagating the NID message through drum beating/Tom-Tom and
d) involve Gram Panchayat staff, ANM, Asha for successful implementation of programme on 03-03-2024
