Expand Your Vocabulary with “Learn a Word for July 2023”

In July 2023, the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Educational Research and Training (APSCERT) has released a day-wise words list for school children in Andhra Pradesh as part of their Learn A Word initiative. This program aims to enhance vocabulary and language skills among students by introducing them to a new word each day throughout the month. The Learn A Word July 2023 list includes a diverse range of words carefully selected to broaden students’ knowledge and understanding. By incorporating these words into their daily conversations and written work, students can expand their vocabulary and improve their overall communication skills. The APSCERT has released the July 2023 Day Wise Words List for Andhra Pradesh school children as part of the Learn A Word initiative. During the period of 1st July to 31st July, all schools under various managements will implement a “Learn A Word A Day” program. This initiative aims to enhance vocabulary skills and promote daily learning among students.

The attention of all the District Educational Officers in the state is invited to the reference cited where in they were requested to implement the innovative program “Learn A Word A Day” with an objective of enriching vocabulary among the students from class 1 to 10.

Therefore, all the District Educational Officers in the state are requested to communicate the action plan along with suggested guidelines to all teachers and headmasters bf all schools under all managements with an instruction to implement the program “LEARN A WORD A DAY” across the state from 01-07-2023 to 31-07-2023 duly following the guidelines scrupulously.

LEARN A WORD A DAY Level – 1 (Classes – 1 to 2) (JULY 2023)

• Student has to find the word from the ‘Primary Level Illustrated Dictionary’
• For grade 1 student’s focus on English word to Telugu word and vice versa.
• For grade 2 students encourage them to learn spelling as well.

Level – 2 (Classes – 3, 4 & 5) (JULY  -2023)

• Student has to learn pronunciation, parts of speech, meaning and usage by using dictionary.

Learn a Word A Day – Level – 3 (Classes – 6 to 8) (JULY  – 2023)

• Student has to find the word from Oxford dictionary
• Encourage the students to learn right pronunciation, spelling, parts of the speech, different meanings that the word has, usage sentences, other form of the word.
• Encourage them to use the word in their own sentences
